Now personally, after playing League of Legends for the past two years I never saw this coming but, the visual upgrade looks amazing! I am really impressed with Riot’s work with this champion.

We had three basic goals with the Master Yi updates:

• Polish up Master Yi’s art and aesthetics so they hit the same level of polish as new champions
• Merge the most enjoyable aspects of AP and AD Yi into a single cohesive playstyle
• Place more emphasis on mastering Yi’s abilities so he’s less frustrating in lower level play and scales better with player skill

Why’d Master Yi get a new look?
Master Yi was one of the first League of Legends champions ever created. Back then the game had a less established artistic identity. We’ve learned a lot over the years, but we also thought it was important to preserve his core look and feel as a part of LoL history. The differences are subtle, but when you check out the new Yi you’ll notice his proportions are more in line with his fellow champs, his animations are more polished and he has some sweet new acrobatic moves on Alpha Strike, Double Strike and Highlander.

Why does Yi need a design update?
Most of AD Yi’s power comes from his basic attack combined with the steroid effects on Wuju Style, Highlander and Double Strike. Without AP, there’s almost no incentive to master your active skills – Meditate’s not a very effective disengage and Alpha Strike can actually make you lose DPS since you could be attacking during the cast animation. By contrast, AP Yi requires careful management of Alpha Strike, Meditate and Wuju Style to maximize damage and survivability, but doesn’t do a whole lot with his basic attack until he gets Lich Bane.
While both these playstyles are interesting in their own right, they don’t necessarily have to be mutually exclusive, and there’s probably a unified design that offers the best of both. Moreover, while AP Yi’s a rather compelling late game fighter, he’s extremely frustrating to face in lane, so scaling back Alpha Strike and Meditate was a necessary part of the update.

What’s happening to AP Yi?
While straight AP probably won’t remain a prominent build, AP Yi players will find many of the familiar elements of their playstyle intact. While Alpha Strike and Meditate are scaled back so they’re less overwhelming in lane, carefully managing your active abilities will play an important role in staying alive and maximizing your DPS. You’ll also have the added power of AD Yi’s basic attack to make up for your less devastating Alpha Strikes.

How’s the new Master Yi play?
We imagine the updated Master Yi will work well in both mid lane and the jungle. We definitely want to skew his itemization away from the typical tank-heavy fighter builds. The updated kit rewards glass cannon DPS builds that rely on disengaging with Alpha Strike and Meditate to stay alive. Most of his power still comes though items rather than natural scaling through levels. Overall, Master Yi players should have more strategic options, and more incentive to master his full kit to fight effectively.”

Breakthrough is the new gametype that features a team that must relocate a flag to a different location and a different team that mus defend. The goal is for the offensive team to get past the defensive team and take the flag to the new location.

Gears of War Judgment really didn’t turn out as successful as I thought. Do you still play GOW Judgment and will you be download the DLC?

DICE has just sent out a limited number of invites to an exclusive alpha testing of Battlefield 4.

DICE sent out these invites to a select few gamers so who knows, maybe you’re one of the lucky gamers. Go check out inbox! Unfortunately, if you didn’t get an invite it looks like you won’t be getting one anytime soon as DICE has no plans to send more out at this time.

Because of the alpha testing starting we now know the following system requirements for PC gamers -

• OS: Vista SP2, Win7 (Win8 not supported)
• 64 bit (32 bit not supported)
• Dx10 or Dx 11 GPU with 1+GB of RAM, Dx 11 highly recommended
• 25GB HDD free space required
• Latest Origin version required

The alpha testing will only last until July 1st according to DICE.

It has just recently been announced that Dota 2 will finally be fully released later this summer. After a super long time of closed beta the developers have plans to release the game as a free to play on Steam towards the end of summer 2013.

Dota 2 has been out in a closed beta for a pretty long time now. In order to get access to the closed beta you would need to get an invite or pay a fee to get access to the game early. Again, the game will be free to play with hero rotations towards the end of summer.

In a GamesBeat interview with Nintendo director Scott Moffitt at E3 we learned something that will effect anyone who is waiting on the price of the Wii U to drop, because now we know it isn’t going to.

A week or so ago people were rumoring that Nintendo had plans to cut the price of the Wii U to be able to compete with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. But, as we learned in the interview, they don’t have any plans to change the price, at least not yet.

Scott Moffitt -

with great hardware coming, that will drive the install base. The perception of our price has changed, but what’s also changed is that people now see what great content is coming. They’ll see the value in those games. They’ll be able to enjoy a Wii U in their household for a lot less than a competing console.”

Super Mario 3D and Mario Kart 8 were two big Nintendo games announced at E3. That gives me a good reason to think that Nintendo will see the Wii U sell a ton more once those games are released.

Riot Games has just now released notes for a new champion and skin sale that will be active between June 14th and the 17th.

Skin sales include the following -

• Waterloo Miss Fortune – 260 RP
• Mercenary Katarina – 260 RP

Champion sales include the following -

• Diana – 487 RP
• Shaco – 395 RP
• Singed – 292 RP

Personally, none of the skins on sale for the champions are my favorite skins but if you haven’t been able to purchase skins for whatever reason this is a good time to give your champion a different look. My favorite Miss Fortune skin would be her Mafia skin and I prefer the High Command Katarina skin over any of the others. Even though I own all the Miss Fortune skins and  three Katarina skins.

As for the champions, all 3 of them are tons of fun to play!

According to the Entertainment Software Association 47% of gamers are female. Yet the gaming community appears to be largely male dominate. It seems that if you ask anybody they would probably tell you males play more video games than females, which is true but barely.

Microsoft recently demo’d the fighter game “Killer Instinct” at E3. The two individuals, one a female and one a male were clearly saying scripted things while fighting in Killer Instinct. A line was spoken by the guy demoing the game with the girl that many peopled online found extremely offending.

“I can’t even block correctly, and you’re too fast,” the female employee said.

“Here we go. Just let it happen. It’ll be over soon,” was the response.

In the video below you can actually hear that the crowd reacted by laughing but later became enraged online. Microsoft hasn’t had the best of luck lately.

Microsoft released an official statement -

“Yesterday, during the Xbox E3 briefing, one of our employees made an off the cuff and inappropriate comment while demoing ‘Killer Instinct’ with another employee. This comment was offensive and we apologize. At Microsoft, being open and respectful with others is central to our code of conduct and our values. Bullying and harassment of any kind is not condoned and is taken very seriously. We remain committed to make gaming fun for everyone, and in that effort, we must lead by example.”

So what do you think, was the comment out of place or do you think its just a little thing blown up?

Dice didn’t get around to announcing a new Mirrors Edge title, a sequel that is. But, we did get to see a reboot featuring Faith that’ll be making its way to the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The game will retell Faiths origins and is described as an open world action adventure game. I’ve got to give EA the props on this one, I cannot wait to get this reboot.
